Will
of R. S. McFaddin
In
the name of God Amen. this 16 day of May 1853 I, R.S. McFaddin of Sumter
District being sick and weak in body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory
do make and ordain this my last will and testament, That is to say in the first
place I give and recommend my Soul to God, my body to be decently buried my
worldly Estate to be divided As follows (Viz)

I give and bequeath unto my Brother Wm. I. McFaddin All the Lands I own on
Black river Including house household and Kitchen furniture Oxen and Cart
plantation tools One half of my Stock of Cattle and all my stock of hogs &
mark, and It is my request that all my Lands I give unto my Brother Wm I
McFaddin If he Should die leaving no lawfull Children all that portion of Land
with the houses is to return back to his Brother and Sisters

I give and bequeath unto John James McFaddin the followering Named Negroes
(Viz) Jack Harriett Toney and Davis with all there future Increase of females,
Also I give unto my Brother John Jas McFaddin My Black Mair and Buggy‑‑

I give and bequeath unto Robt. W Rose the followering named Negroes (Viz)Bob
Cloey Leno Darkey and Julia with all the future Increase of the females I also
give unto Robt. W Rose my Sam Mule Saddle Horse Hunter And Silver watch--

I give and bequeath unto Wm. T. Rose the followering named Negroes (Viz) Bill
Beckey Lydia June and Scene with
all the future Increase of the females I also give unto Wm. T Rose my wagon
Milly Mule and Sorrel Coalt

I give and bequeath unto my Sister Mary E. Bradwell the followering named
Negroes (Viz) Abigail Charles Martha
Michael and Hamton with all the future Increase of the females It is my
request
that If my Sister Mary Should die leaving no lawfull Children that those named
Negroes with their Increase is to return back and divided amongst my Brothers
and Sister

I give and bequeath unto Robt. W Rose & Wm. T. Rose the one half of my
Stock of Cattle Item I give and bequeath unto My Beloved Sister Martha Jane
Burgess the sum of Two hundred & Fifty Dollars
Item
I give and bequeath unto Wm. H. D. McFaddin the sum of One thousand Dollars to
be appropriated to his Education It is my Will and desire that if any demands
Should be Made Against Abigail & family and my Sister Mary should loose the
negroes my heirs must make up the Sum of Nine hundred Dollars for her If she is
living or her Children---

I give and bequeath unto Robt. W Rose & Wm. T. Rose all the residue of my
Est. notes Acct Cash in hand after My Just debts are paid It,s to be Appropriated to there Education
And I do hereby Appoint Constitute and ordain My Brother John Jas. McFaddin and
Wm. I McFaddin My Executors to Execute this my last Will and testament and I do
hereby disannul Every other Will, I ratify and confirm this Instrument of
writing to be my last Will & Testament
