Will of Hugh McDonald

In
the Name of God Amen. I Hugh McDonald of the State & district aforesaid
being of sound mind & memory, but conscious of the certainty of death,
& the uncertainty of life, do make & ordain this my last will &
testament, revoking all others which may have been heretofore made by me.
Item
first- I give & bequeath unto my beloved Wife Leonora G. McDonald all the
personal property which I became pofsefsed of, by my marriage to
her---also--one hundred acres Land, more or lefs, purchased from Cole E. Benbow
& adjoining my Sandhill plantation--also one half acre of land, purchased
of Mr John A. Colclough, & adjoining my Summer residence at Bradford
Springs‑Also two hundred & fifty acres--purchased of J. A.
Colclough--adjoining my summer residence at Bradford Springs---

Second- I give & bequeath unto my beloved wife--one half of my real
Est--(Lands lying on Tawcam) -also one half of the Negroes on said
plantation--to her & her heirs forever---

third-I give & bequeath unto my Brother Alex.d McDonald, the remaining,
half of my Tawcam plantation— & the whole remainder, of my Negroes on Said
plantation & else where-- Also ‑ my Celebrated Jack Warrior, together
with my Guineys & their foals--also my stock of Brood Mares, with their
foals, together, with my entire stock of Cattle-and also all my Bonds, moneys,
& all other things to me belonging, which he may have in his pofsefsion-in
fee simple forever-
And
I do hereby appoint, & constitute my Brother Alex.d McDonald, and my
beloved Wife Leonora G. McDonald sole Executor, & Executrix. to this my
last will & testament--the same to be executed by them free from any other
control whatsoever---
Having
neglected to dispose of my Carriages
& Horses--the same I give &
bequeath unto my beloved Wife Leonora G. McDonald
