In the Name of God Amen I John McCoy of ClaremontCounty, Sumter District & State of SC, Planter, being in as goodhealth as usial & of sound & disposing mind memory &understanding do hereby make, consititute, and ordain this my lastwill & testament in manner and form following.

First - I give devise & bequeath unto myBrother Redden McCoy the whole of my lands of every description thatI have any claim or title too whatsoever the quantity may be orwheresoever it may lay; Also seven Negroes, Lydia and her sixchildren Mills, Butler, Ben, Judy, Jenny, Philis & their Increaseto him and his Heirs forever.

Secondly - I give & bequeath unto my NephewElisha McCoy one Negro man named Anthony to him & his heirsforever

Thirdly - I give & beq. unto my SisterElizabeth Pringle's Children four Negroes, old Philis, Amoretta,Jacob, & Philis, Junr. them ad their increase to be equallydivided betw/ them share & share alike to them & their Heirs forever.

Fourthly - I give & beq. unto My DeceasedBrother Lewis McCoy's children fifty dollars to be paid out ot themoney as soon as collected from the sale of my stock of cattleho& to be equally divided betw/ them & their Heirs foreverto be paid out of the money as soon as collect. fr. the sales of mystock of cattle hogs etc.

Fifthly - I give & beq. unto my Dec. Bro.Stephan McCoy's children fifty dollars to be equally divided betw/them share & share alike to them & their Heirs forever to bepaid out of the money as collect. fr...(same as above)

Sixthly - I give & beq. unto my Dec. SisterCelia Davis's children fifty dollars to be paid out of the money assoon as collect. fr. the sale.....(above)

Seventhly - My wish & desire is that my NegroMan Jim have his choice for his Master either my Bro. Redden McCoyor my Nephew Elisha McCoy; which Negro I will & beq. to eitherof them as he may choose for his Master. Eighthly - My wish &desire is that the whole of my stock...& the whole of myperishable property not mentioned above to be sold & as soon asthe money can be coll. that the above legacies be paid & all myjust debts & the balance after...w/all the remainder of myproperty of whatsoever description as may not be mentioned in thetenor of this will...that I have claim to or title at my death, Igive & beq. the whole to my Bro. Redden McCoy, his heirs forever.

Ninthly - In further explaining this will &test., that is is my wish & desire that my Bro. Redden McCoyshould have the whole remainder & residue of my prop. both real& personal ..., that I have right to at my death w/ the exceptions of the above legacies - Lastly - I nominate appoint &constitute my Bro. Redden McCoy & Elisha McCoy or either them myExec. to carry this will into execution agreeable to the tenorthereof - Given under my hand & seal this 18th day of Oct. in theyear of our Lord 1826 & in the 51st year of AmericanIndependence.
