Will of William Mayrant, Sr.
In the name of God, Supreme ruler of the universe Amen. I William Mayrant Senior being in low & ill health but of sound and disposing mind and Memory, do make, and ordain this to be my last will and testament.
1st It is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid.
2nd It is my Will and desire that my Executors do furnish my wife with three or four servants, and Kitchen furniture and household furniture that I may leave, to be for her use during her life, and at her death to be divided among my Children as the residue of my Estate is herein after directed.
3rdly It is my will and desire that my Executors do give to my Sons Samuel & Robert each one Servant of about the age of fourteen or fifteen, to be delivered to them on their coming of age, or sooner as my Executors may think proper.
4thly I give to my son John my double barrell gun & case that my son William gave me, also my watch, and request that he may keep them as a memento of an affectionate father:
It is my will and desire that the residue of my Estate be divided into seven equal parts between my wife and my sons Charles, John, Samuel, & Robert, & my two daughters Frances & Placidias, share & share alike; But no division of my Estate to take place until my Robert comes of age, and my debts paid; the income or as much thereof as may be necessary to be applied to the Support and maintenance of my wife and to the Support, maintenance and education of my sons Samuel & Robert. It is further my will and desire that the portion of the residue of my Estate, which my wife may be entitled to under this my last will and testament, shall be held by my Executors in trust for her during her life, and at her death to be divided between my sons Samuel and Robert. It is also my will and desire that the portion which my daughter Placidia may be entitled should be Settled upon her and her children, and should she die without leaving any children to be divided between my sons Samuel & Robert.
I have not left my son William any part of my Estate - after paying my debts the residue when divided will be but small to each of my children, and my son William is in a lucrative practice at law, and is otherwise well off in his property.
Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my son Charles Mayrant, my son in law Robert Bontham and John W. Mayrant Executors of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void, all and every other will or wills, at any time heretofore made by me. And do declare this to be my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this the 24th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five. The portion of my estate left to my wife is in lieu of all Dower or any other claim she may have on my estate. Signed, Sealed, published and declared in the presence of us; by William Mayrant Senior as his last will & testament, and Subscribed by us in his presence at his request, and in the presence of each other, as witnesses thereto.

I do hereby revoke so much of the Second clause of my last will and testament as directs my Executors to furnish my wife with only three or four Servants and in Lieu thereof, direct that they shall furnish her with the following Servants Stephen Judy and all their Children and also Fortune during her life and at her death to be divided between my sons Samuel and Robert And I do ordain and declare this present writing to be a Codicil to my last will and testament and taken as a part thereof And do confirm my said last will and testament in every particular thereof that is not hereby Altered or revoked. In witness whereof I have to this codicil Set my hand Seal this day of in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred twenty Six.
Signed Sealed declared and published by the Said Wm Mayrant Senr. as his last and for a Codicil to his last will and Testament.
