of John McFaddin Senior
In the district of Sumter
I John McFaddin Senior being in the
Seventieth year of my Age & of a compofsed Mind & Memory and doubting
the time of my difsolution to be near at hand ‑‑I recommend my
Spirit to Almighty God, my body to be decently buried. my worldly Estate to be
divided as follows (to Wit) Item I give & bequeath unto my three sons John
Jay McFaddin Samuel McFaddin & William McFaddin all that plantation or
Tract of Land that I now dwell on containing Six hundred &~twenty five
Acres (more or lefs) according to William Mouzons resurvey in my lands, with
all its Appurtenances; to them, their Heirs & afsigns forever, the said
Tract of Land I have divided already & put them in pofsefsion‑‑so
that my son John Jay is to have the Lower division‑‑my Son Samuel
the Middle division & my son William the upper division enclusive My
dwelling house & all my out houses-‑see the lines Already run as
Appears in Mouzons
resurvey Affores’d‑‑‑
Item I give & bequeath unto my son John
Jay McFaddin Seven Negroe named Phebe Nero, Centry, Joe, Fanny, Bobb & Doll
with all the future increase of the females to him his Heirs &
Afsigns.
Item I give & bequeath unto my Son Samuel
McFaddin four negroes named Jacob, Prime, Nanna, Selina with all the future
increase of the females to him his Heirs & afsigns.
Item I give & bequeath unto my eon
William Seven negroes named Harry, Little Leno Cyrus, Harry, Caffee, Tony,
& Aimey, with all the future increase of the females to him his Heirs &
afsigns---
Item, I give & bequeath unto my daughter
Mary Anderson Six Negroe named Abb big Leno, Clory, Pinckney, Eve & Sam to
her & her Ifsue, together with all the future Ifsue of the females- And in duty bound I leave my two
Superannuated Slaves to my son William to feed and cloath during their natural
life-(their names Carolina & Kate,) Item I give and bequeath unto my son
William all the residue of my Estate. he to pay my debts.---
I do hereby authorize constitute nominate and
appoint my three Sons. Viz, John Jay McFaddin, Samuel McFaddin & William
McFaddin them or any two of them, or any One of them, my Executors or Executor
of this my last will & testament.---
Nothing doubting but they will Manage it with
all requisite prudence-- And I do hereby disallow & disannull all &
every other former will & testament; by me heretofore made, named Willed or
bequeathed.---
Ratifying & confirming this & no
other to be my last Will & testament. Signed Sealed & delivered in the
presence of the Subscribing Witnefses. dated March 2nd 1826.
