Will
of William Lesesne
State of So Carolina
In
the Name of God Amen I William Lesesne of Sumter District and State aforesaid,
do make this my last Will and testament and no other, my body to be decently
burried by my Executors hereafter Named and as to my worldly estate God has
pleased to blefs me with I give and bequeath in form following, it is my will
and desire that all my just debts and funeral Expences be first paid by my
Executors First I give and bequeath to
my beloved Wife Mary Martha
Lesesne the full use of my Dean Swamp
plantation with all the use of my furniture, stock, Cattle, Hogs, Sheep, &
&c During the time that She may remain my Widow, and that all the Surviving
Children by my first Wife and her Children live with her if it is there wish
and to be Supported & Schoold out of the proceeds of my plantation, the
plantation to be Kept in use by my Executors for the Mutual Interest of her and
the Children, untill the youngest become of age
and then Sold and the proceeds be equally divided
between my Surviving Children & widdow but should she marry and leave the
plantation it is my wish that my Executors allow her a Compension for the
Boarding of such of the Children as may live with her
Second
I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Martha Isaac Nelson Caroline
Rebecca, my Daughter Mary Martha & Harriot Ann one equal part of the
following Negroes viz Toba, Hannah, Suckey, Julia, Molly, Casia, Will, Harriot
Cain, George, Bina, Simon, Prince, old
Hannah, Jinny and Pompy, to them and there
ears, but should any of the Children die before they arrive at the age of
Twenty one or marry there part to be divided between the Surviving Children
Third-
I give and bequeath to my Children by my first Wife Caroline Charles F,
Lesesne, Binky Eliza, James Conyers and William Mongummary the following
Negroes viz Amus Julia, old Bob, Scippie, Unity little Amus, John Hager little
Bob, March, Winter, Sharper, Cresia little Juliet, little March and old Harriot
to them and there ears but Should any of the Children die before they become of
age or Marry it is my wish that there party go to the Surviving Children by my first wife;
Fourth.
I give and bequeath to my Son Charles Frederick Lesesne, that one half
of the old House Tract of Land that in
the devision with my Brother Charles, fell to me, to him and his ears, but
should he die before the age of Twenty one or
marry, to go to his Surviving Brothers & Sisters.
I Constitute and appoint my worthy Friends
William Heton, Peter M Oliver, and my Son Charles F. Lesesne Executors of this
my last will and Testament, In Witnefs thereof I set my hand and Seal this third day of April in the year of our Lord
one thousand Eight hundred and thirty three and in the fifty Seventh year of
American Independence---
