I being intent on going on a visit to Texas
do think it prudent to settle my affairs lest death in any
of its forms should overtake me before I
return- As I am not in debt to any person I dispose of what I pofsefs in the
following Manner‑ first the papers is to be collected that I hold against
persons or as much as can and the Amount is
to be divided between My Father ‑ Mother ‑ Sisters and brothers and
the division among these persons to be equal but if My father or Mother should
Marry a second or more time and have children or should either of them have an
illegitimate child or children this child or children shall not share with my
Brothers and Sisters should Any of My full. and lawful Brothers or sisters die
Not having a lawful child or children the part of that brother or sister shall
be divided among my surviving lawful brothers and Sisters and should My father
or Mother die before the division of this my surviving lawful brothers and
sisters shall have their part. I will give directions on the next page how to
Inform My father ‑ Mother ‑ Brothers‑and Sisters of this gift
and after the person in whose hand I shall have this paper and the notes payable to me‑ Makes known
to My father mother Brothers and sisters the contence of this paper and should
they not apply for the legacy within the space of six years from the date it is
my wish that this money and effects of mine be divided into three parts one
part given to Lodabar church another to Clarks church and the third part to
Concord Church of which churches D.McQueene is the pastor of the latter one-
and Wilbou is the preacher who has the charge of the circuit to which the two
former belongs . - the trustees of each of these churches shall put their part
out at Interest and that interest shall be given toward the annual sallary of
the preacher or preachers of their said churches - My Father’s name is Thos.
Hamilton ‑ My Mothers name is Mary. My sisters are Mary Ann ‑
Martha Susan‑ and Jane ‑ and My Brother’s name is Joshua but they
may have more children since my departure from them my parents were living near
Ballivearloe in the County of Galway. I was born in bloonkirt parish of
Turlough County of Mayo near Caselliar write to Joseph Sharp or David Wakefield
of Ballivearloe County Galsay or to Thos. Poe or John Smith of Aughram in
Galway‑ My father was in the Poliese establishment in these places and
write to Sm Lawrience in Westport and to the Wilks and Hennan family sprighill
near westport in the County of Mayo Ireland ‑ the amount that I have is
fourteen hundred and Ninety Dollars and 33 3/4/100 cts. I have this paper and
all the notes payable to me and the receipts for notes given to Moses &
Millar in the hands of Henry Spann and I do appoint the S.d Spann And Wm. C.
Gary to attend to the contence of this writing and should we never meet in this
life to return them thanks I hope we shall meet in the Kingdom which Christ
went to prepare for them who serve him-
