Will of Martha H.G. Davis

        

 

In the name of God Amen, I Martha H. G. Davis of Sumter District and the State of South Carolina calling to mind that it is appointed once for all to die being weak of body but of Sound mind memory and understanding do make constitute and ordain this my last will and Testament revoking all others by me heretofore made.  Item first  It is my desire that my body be buried in a deacent christian like manner at the discretion of my sons, and as to my worldly goods which it

has pleased God to blefs me with I wish disposed of in the following manner. It is my desire that my lawful debts be first paid,  Item.  I give and bequeath to my beloved Sister Laura. C. Singleton my Carriage and pair of horses for her especial benefit,  Item I give and bequeath to my beloved Sister Sousan. E. Felder my Silver consisting of a Sugar dish, Milk pot, and sugar tonges, and at her death to become the property of her Daughter, Anna. D. Felder.   Item I give

and bequeath to my beloved Sister Eliza. C. Colclough my mantle clock.   Item I give to my Nephew William L McDonald Two cows and calves.   Item. I give to my Niece Louisa A. C. Richardson my negro woman Clary and her son Ned also a little negro girl named binkey and a Bed and Matrafs should however, my Niece L. A. C Richardson die leaving no lawful Ifsue it is my will and desire that the above named property together with their Ifsue be returned to my surviving grand Children.   Item  I give and bequeath to my two Sons William. M. Davis and Edward. B. Davis the balance of my property both personal and Real which I desire them to devide----equally between themselves and it is my desire that my Son William. M. Davis take in his division two boys named  Osborn and Thaddius. and my Son Edward B. Davis take in his two boys named Jackson and Phillip But it is my will that the property which I leave my sons shall be at no time subject to their debts and after their death to descend to their lawful Ifsue but should either of my Sons die without leaving Lawful Ifsue it  is my desire that the property which I leave them shall descend or rather be equally divided between my surviving grand Children.
