Will of Eliza L. Bradley
In
the name of God Amen, I Eliza L. Bradley of Sumter District State of South
Carolina being of sound & disposing mind and memory do make, ordain and
appoint this my last Will and Testament, I commend my soul to its creator and
give my body to the dust whence it came, as to the worldly Estate with which it
hath pleased God to bless me, I dispose of it in the following manner- Item 1st
I will and bequeath to my Sister Mary J. English the sum of One hundred
Dollars Item 2nd I will and bequeath to my Sister Martha
Bradley my negroe woman Ellener her present and future increase and their issue
to her forever- Item 3rd I will and
bequeath to my Sister Martha Bradley during her natural life, my man Toney with
the express prohibition that he shall not be removed from the Town of Columbia
during that period and at her death I will said Toney to be free, & hereby
constitute and appoint Edward Smith and Josiah Scott Guardians of and for said
Toney--

4th I bequeath to my Sister Martha all my money notes Bonds, Goods and Chattles
or effects and whatever else I may die possessed, and I do hereby nominate,
constitute & appoint my said Sister Martha Executrix to this my last Will
and Testament, In witness whereof I have hereunto affixed my hand Seal,
published and dedared this to be my last Will and Testament, this 12th day of
June Eighteen hundred and forty five, and in the sixty ninth Year of American
Independence & in the presence of
