I Henry Vaughan of Sumpter District in The State,of South Carolina Bein sound in mind memory and health but assured ofThe necessity of death & the uncertainty of our lifes duration ammoved to make this my last will and Testament for the disposition ofmy temporal affairs, Therefore I lend unto beloved wife MargaretVaughan in leu of dower an Equal share of my personal Estate with myfive Children during her natural life and then to be Equally dividedbetween my five Children viz Finnette Julia Vaughan, Mary M. Vaughan& Henry Vaughan & John A Vaughan & Vermeill Vaughan alsoI will & bequeath two horses and a Carriage to her the saidMargaret Vaughan, and further That beloved wife Margaret Vaughanduring the time that she remains mywidow and if she shall marrybefore That my five Children becomes of age it is my request thatThe whole of my house hold furniture be sold at public auction to Thehighest bidder. and Then to be left to the disgression of myExecutors when to divide it between my heirs or when myoldest Sonattain to The age of 18 or twenty years, Item it is my will anddesire that pegs four Children viz Shany Merryman & nance&prise should have there freedom also that this bys two first Childrenviz admon and dianna should in like manner have There freedom andThat none of my heirs Executors or administrators Shall at any timeafter my death have any priviledge or command over the aforesaidNiggros viz Shany Merryman Nance & prise admon and dianna ifonly in this case that Meriman & Edmon shall be bound to a goodTrade until They attain to 18 or twenty years of age, it is also mywish if they should require a support until they become of age Thatthey Should be supported out of Estate, Item it is my will that peg& thisby should not be put in the field or to any laborous workafter my Death and at the death of my wife Margaret Vaughan for peg& thisby to have their freedom & supported out of my Estateas long as they live unless They are able to supportthemselves,
Item I will and bequeath to my beloved Sons Vis.Henry Vaughan & John A. Vaughan all my Lands or real Estate to beEqually & Imparsialy divided between my two sons viz HenryVaughan & John A Vaughan at any time when my Executor may thinkproper or when they attain to the age of 18 or twenty, except twotracts of land viz one tract lying on Long Branch bought of JohnAnderson Containing 225 acres the other tract lying near BradfordSprings granted to myself containing three hundred acres. those twolast mentioned tracts I will & bequeath vis. to my Threedaughters Viz Finnetta Julia Vaughan & Mary M. Vaughan andVermeille Vaughan to be Equally & imparsially Divided at anyconveneit time or when my Executors may think proper, and theremaining part of personal Estate to be Equally & imparsiallydivided between my five Children viz Finnetta Julia, Mary M. &Henry, John A, & Vermeille to be divided at any convient time orwhen They attain to the age of twenty years and if either of myChildren vis. Finnetta, Mary, Henry, John & Vermille and shoulddie without issue and that issues die before it becomes twenty oneyears of age. the property to assend or return to surviving heirs, Ihereby appoint my friend John Anderson Jr. & John Miller a turneyat law & beloved wife Margaret Vaughan Executors This last willand testament declaring ratifying and confirming this and no other tobe.
