In the name of God Amen. I John Perry of SouthCarolina Sumter District, being weak and frail in body but of soundmind memory and understanding recollecting the uncertainty of lifeand the certainty of Death, and feeling desirious(sic) before mydecease to dispose of such worldly property with which it has pleasedGod, to bless me with, I do therefore make and constitute this and noother to be my last Will and Testament as follows-------------Imprimus(sic), I will and desire that all my lawful debts bepaid-
Item I will and desire that my property both realand Personal be equally divided between my three Children (Viz)Sarah-Anngulina Perry, Samuel James Bradley Perry, and Ollave HazzardPerry. -
Item I will and desire my Estate be kept togetheruntil eldest Child Comes of age or marries then in that Case myExecutors shall nominate five disinterested freeholders withoutapplying to Court to appraise the whole of my Estate and set off tothe their Heir that it of Age or married its share, and the remainderto be kept together until the Second Heir Comes of Age or marriesthen my Executors Shall again procede(sic) as above, and in Caseeither of my Children should die before they Comes of Age or marriesmy Executors shall again divide the Deceased part as above- Lastly, IConstitute, Nominate, and appoint William W. Bradley and WilliamWilson my Executors of this my last Will and testament, and I dohereby revoke all former wills and acknowledge this and this only tobe my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto setmy hand and seal this 6th day of September in the year of our Lord onthousand eight hundred twenty two and in the forty Seventh Year ofAmerican Indapendance(sic)- In the third Item (Viz) the word (withoutapplying to Court) was interlined before Signing.
