In the name of God Amen I Samuel Dwyer of theState and District aforesaid planter being in a low State of body butof perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God; Calling intomind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed untoall men once to die do make and ordain this my last will andtestament that is to say principally and first of all I give and re-commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, and mybody I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burialat the descretion of my Executors; nothing doubting but at thegeneral resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mightypower of God.
And as touching such worldly estate as it haspleased God to blefs me with in this life I give demise and disposeof in the following manner and form--
First I give and bequeath to my Beloved DaughterMargret Carter and to the Hiers of her body the tract of Land where Inow live with all the improvements thereon, Containing 350 Acres moreor lefs, Also the lower part of the tract on which James R Carter nowlives the line to Commence where the Old Gin house formerly stood andrun so as to embrace one third part of that tract I also give andbequeath to my Daughter and after her to her Hiers twenty fiveNegroes (Viz) Aguilla, Judge Moriah Anna, Ned, Billy, Hariot,Shadrick, Billy Louisa, March, Lydia, Minda Levicy, Sabina Arthur,John, Matilda Joseph, Stephen Lucy Sarena a small chil name notknown Adam Ceasar and Nancy, I also give and bequeath to my belovedson James Dwyer the balance of the above mentioned tract of land onwhich James R Carter now lives which tract Contains by the original640 Acres; I also give and bequeath to James Dwyer a tract of LandContain 150 Acres lying between Capt Caleb Rembert and David Scott,the above mentioned Land & a lot of twenty one Negroes I give andbequeath to James Dwyer and to the Lawful heirs of his body the namesof s.d Negroes are as follows. (Viz) Anna Mary Benjamin Thisby LucySasy Gin Moriah Littleton, Joseph, Charles Peter, Eliza, Mary, FloraNarse Charle Harry, Masheck, July, Fortune & Sally--- The balanceof my property consisting of household & Kitchen furniturePlantation tools &c I wish equally divided between MargaretCarter & James Dwyer and after them to the Lawful heirs of theirbodys---
And I do hereby Constitute make and Ordain CaptCaleb Rembert the sole Executor of this my last will and testamentand I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and everyformer Testament Wills Legacies & bequeath & Executors by mein Any wise before Named Willed & bequeathed ratifying andconfirming this and no other to be my last will andtestament---
