In the name of God, amen, I Ann Clark, of SumterDistrict, Widow, being weak of Body, but of sound mind, memory &understanding praised be god for the same, Do make this my Will &testament in manner & form following.---
First-I Give, Devise & bequeath unto myGrandson John Dargan & his Heirs forever, one tract of landcontaining, one hundred & thirty three acres more or lefs, beingthe same whereon I & he now live; also one other tract of landadjoining to the above containing Six hundred & forty acresgranted to my self-provided, should the said John Dargan die beforeme then the above lands to go to his Heirs forever--- Secondly-I Give& bequeath unto my Grand daughter Alice Vaughan wife of WilliamVaughan, my chair horse, my weaving loom & all thingsappertaining thereto; also my riding chair & Harnefs, or in liewof the said chair & Harnefs, if she prefer it, the sum of onehundred Dollars, & the receipt of the said Alice for the abovethings shall be a sufficient discharge for my Executors.
Thirdly-I Give & bequeath unto my granddaughter Elizabeth Culliette & her Heirs forever one negro Girlnamed Dinah & her increase; also my Bed & Bed furniture,& a set of bed curtains-I also give to the said Elizabeth onenegro Boy named Wilson, untill my Great Grandson William M Bradfordattains the age of eighteen years, if she so long live, and from andafter that time or after her death if it first happens, I give &bequeath the said negro Wilson unto said William M Bradford & hisheirs---
Fourthly-It is my will & desire that all myBeds, sheets, quilts, counterpins, blankets, Table linen &wearing apparel be equally divided amongst John Dargan, Alice Vaughan& Nancy Culiette wife of Thomas Culliette.
Fifthly- I Give & bequeath unto my GrandsonWilliam W. McConnico my silver watch
Sixthly-I Give devise & bequeath unto thechildren now alive of my deceased children Elizabeth McConnico &Mary James & their Heirs forever, share & share alike onetract of land containing Five hundred acres, granted to SamuelClark---Seventhly-My will & desire is that all the rest residue& remainder of my estate including a negro woman named Rose &her increase which I lent to John Dargan & also a negro womannamed Nelly & her increase which I lent William Vaughan; Bedivided into Three equal parts, & Distributed in mannerfollowing: one of the said parts to be divided into Six equal parts,two parts thereof to Christopher McConnico & William W McConnico,& the survivor of them should either of them die before me onesixth of said to Elizabeth Culliette but should the said Elizabethdie without a child or children alive at her death, then the partherein given to her, I give & bequeath to the children of myGrandson Thomas Culliette, alive at the time of her death, one sixthpart of said third, to Charles Connors & his Executors &administrators, to have & to hold the same in trust, to & forthe use benefit & behoof of his children William J Conners &Henrietta Connors & the survivor of them, to be paid to them asthey may marry or come of age, which ever may first happen. one sixthpart of said third to the children of my Grandson Thomas Culliette.one sixth part of said third, to Christopher McConnico & WilliamW McConnico & the survivor of them & the Executors &administrators of the said survivor, To have & to hold, the samein trust to & upon the special trust, & confidence, hereinafter mentioned, that is to say, to & for the use, benefit &behoof of my Great-grand-son William M Bradford to be delivered &paid to him on his arriveing at the age of twenty one or day ofmarriage which ever may first happen, provided neverthelefs, thatshould the said William M Bradford, die under age, unmarried or without a child then the said one sixth part herein give to him as above,I give & bequeath to William J Connors & Henrietta Connors& the survivor of them. one of the said third part as abovementioned I desire to be equally divided to & amongst my Grandchildren, Matthew James, Mary Johnston, Elizabeth Brailsford &Clarifsa Dubose & their Heirs- The other third part of my estateas above directed to be divided, I desire to be equally dividedbetween John Dargan & Alice Vaughan the said Alice to have &to hold her part to her sole & separate use for her life &from & after her death to go to the children of the said Alice& the receipt of the said Alice for the same shall be asufficient discharge for my Executors herein after named. Providedneverthelefs, should the said William Vaughan, refuse to let the saidnegro, Nelly, lent to him be taken into account with my estate &be divided, then & in that case it is my will & desire thatthe said part herein given to said Alice, & John Dargan, go tothe said John Dargan, except the said negro Nelly & her increase,which I give to the said Alice to her sole & separate use- And itis further my will & desire that should John Dargan die beforeme, then the part herein given to him go to his children.---
Lastly. I nominate, constitute & appoint JohnDargan Christopher McConnico & Matthew James, Executors of thismy last will & testament hereby revoking & making void all& every other will or wills at any time heretofore by me made,and I do declare this to be my last will & testament-In witnefswhereof I the said Ann Clark have hereunto set my hand and seal thistwelveth day of August in the year of our lord one thousand eighthundred and eight
