Will of Ann Bryson

 

 

In the name of God Amen. I Ann Bryson ofSumter District, and the state of South Carolina, widow, being weakin body but of sound mind and memory, praised be God for thesame&emdash;do make this my last will and testament in manner andform folowing------

Whereas by the last will and testament of myformer husband James Roe deceased, I shall be entitled to the onefifth part of his personal estate when his youngest child shallarrive to the age of twenty one years, agreeable to the Tenor ofSaidwill. I therefore give and bequeath unto my four children whichI had by the said James Roe, deceased, the sum of one dollar to eachof them to be paid to them by my Executor hereafter named wheneverthey shall command the same after my said Executor hath gottenpossession of my part of the property above mentioned----

Item, I give and bequeath unto my twodaughters, Frances Jane and Susannah Bryson, which I had by my latehusband Lefty Bryson, all the rest and residue of my property ofwhatever kind soever I may be possessed of or entitled to at the timeof my death to be equally divided between them, share and share aliketo be paid to them when they arrive at the age of eighteen or day ofmarriage which may first happen and if either of them should diebefore that age or day of marriage, the property given to them, is tobe equally

Divided between my surviving children, share andshare alike, lastly I nominate, constitue and appoint my trustyfriend Ge Roe, pastor Samuel Plowden sole Executors

Of this my last will and testament.----- Inwitness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal, this second dayof July in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred andfour.
