In the Name of God Amen I, John Anderson of Salem County BeingSick & Weak in Body but of Perfect mind & memory thanks begiven to God, therefore calling into mind the 'mortality of my Body& that it is appointed unto all men once to Die: do thereforeordain this my last Will & Testament, that is to say first and Principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God whogave it, & my Body I commit to the earth to be buried in adecent Christian like manner, & as for such worldly good things,wherewith it hath pleased God to blefs me in this life; I give andBequeath in the following Manner. Imprimus I wish and desire that assoon as convinient after my decease that all my Lawful debts be paidby my Executors hereafter named I mean such Debts as are of my Owncontracting, Exclusive of such payments as will be hereafterpointed out as also on what account, together with their mood ofPayment, Item I give & Bequeath unto my Loving wife & to my Children hereafter named John Anderson, David Anderson, LuoiceAnderson Martha Anderson Jophsona Anderson & Philip MarshallAnderson all my Perfonal Estate Confisting of Negroes, Stocks of allkinds, horses, Cattle, Sheep, hogs & gotes, house hold &kitchen furniture & plantation tools, Excepting Ceaser, &Plentry two boys that will be hereafter Disposed of It is also my will & desire that my loving Wife have hir chose of A CertainNegro Woman Named Misiah, It is also my Will & desire that myLoving Wife have the full use & Injoyment of the propertyBequeathed unto hir, hir Lifetime & that after hir Decease thatthan to Decend to the Surviving Child or Children of hir secondMarriage & Should she die & leave no child or children thatthen they Property are to Be equally Divided, Amongst my ChildrenAbove Named & should hir child or children die, in their StateMinority or leaving no heirs, that then in that case also theproperty are also to Return to my children above named, & shouldany disfatsfaction take place with the Negroes that may fall to myLoving Wifes part so as they will not live with hir or she cannotget no benefit from them she is at liberty to Sell or Dispose ofthem as she sees fitt & the Money or property purchased again shall Decend as above Directed Item I give and Bequeath unto myDaughter Susanna. Cooper one Negro Boy Named Centry to his & theheirs of his Body for ever; Item I give & bequeath unto myDaughter Sarah Wheeloen one Negro Boy Named Ceasir to hir & hir heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath unto my Son James Andersonthe property that was given to him at the time of his Marriage as afull compenfation from my Estate to him & his heirs forever,Item I give & Bequeath unto my Daughter Effee Way, the propertythat was given to hir at the time of hir Marriage as a full compensation from my Estate, to hir & hir heirs forever, It is myWill & Desire that my Children Enjoy there own Stock, that areDistinguish by their Brands Item It is my Will and desire that myLoving Wife remain on the plantation whereon I now reside during hir natural life, & to have the first enjoyment of the Mansion houseand out houses. Item it is my will Desire that the whole of my Landsbe Equally divided between my Sons John Anderson, David Anderson,& Philip Marshal Anderson, It is also my will and desire thatshould any of my Sons die in their Minority or leaving no lawfulIsfue that then it is to Return to the Surviving Male or Males, inexclusion of my Daughters, Item it is my Will and desire that myBooks be keept for the benefit of my family, It is alfo my Will& Desire that the property Bequeathed unto my Children be fully vested to them as Directed forever; I do hereby nominate Constitute& appoint Frances Anderson my loving Wife Exctrix, JamesAnderson & John Anderson my loving sons My Escecutors, of thismy last will & Testament & I do hereby utterly disallow,Revoke and Disannul all and every former Testaments, Wills, LegaciesBequeathed or Esc.es by me In any way before Bequeathed, Ratifying& conferming this and no other to be my last Will & testament, In Witnefs whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Sealthis second Day of October in the year of our Lord one thousandEight hundred four
