LESSEL/LESLIE My Lessel/Leslie ancestors were in Sumter County c. 1790-1810, then some moved to Georgia. Would like to correspond with anyone with info/interest in the Lessel/Leslie family.
HUDSON/WHEELER- I am looking for any inform on John Hudson (1882-1920). His father was Samuel Hudson married to Minnie(?). Also looking for inform on Bulter Wheeler(1871-?) married to Nora Wilson(1875-?). All according to census were living in Lynchburg area in 1900.
GLOVER/PYLANT- Richard Glover mar Susan Pylant(d) dau of George in Sumter or Claremont Co., S.C. They have child born 1799, Need names of children.

NETTLES/SEALE Charles and Elinor Seale, 1850 Shelby CO. AL census, age 65 and 58, emigrated from Sumter CO, SC. Was Elinor's maiden name NETTLES? Could she be the grandmother/aunt of the NETTLES children (John Jackson and Samantha) living in the Alabama household in 1850? BOWMAN- I have copies of pages from an old Bowman Bible giving information on Matthew Bowman b. 1757 in SC, died Amite Co. MS 1827. He was in Sumter Dist SC in 1797. In the 1800 census he lived next to my g-g-g-g grandfather, James Bowman in Sumter Dist. I believe these two Bowmans were brothers. Matthew moved to Shelbyville TN in 1804 then to Amite Co MS by 1811. He was a Methodist minister. I will be glad to share information from the old Bible about Matthew and his descendants. Does anyone have information on the parents and siblings of Matthew and James Bowman? James was in Escambia Co. FL. before 1830.

COLE- Looking for information on the Cole family of Sumter District 1820 - 1840. In 1830 Esther Hickson and John Cole(s) Junr. were the administrators of the Reuben Hicksons estate. Was Esther the wife of Hickson and the sister of John Cole(s) Junr? Six months after Reuben's death, Esther and Reubin's youngest child were part of the John Baker household, Esther as his second wife and he as R. F.Hickson's guardian.

OUTLAW/HALL- I am searching for information on my gggg grandparents James Outlaw b. 1775 in Craven Co., SC d. 1866 Dale Co., AL and who married (about 1802 in possibly Craven Co. or Sumter Co.) Cynthia Hall b. in Sumter Co. and d. about 1828-29 probably in Sumter Co. James Outlaw's father was Benjamin Outlaw who was b. in Bertie Co., NC in 1740 and served in the American Revolution. Benjamin's father was George Outlaw who was b. 1716 in VA d. 1778 in Burke Co., GA and m. Lydia Bently? who was also b. in Bertie Co., NC in 1720. George Outlaw's father was EdwardOutlaw probably b. in VA before 1700. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
BASS- Bass, Charles (34) and Ellen (20), both from Ireland, in Sumter Co. 1860 census; married within the year; he was a Painter (I don't know what kind); believe she died by 1863-64. Charles left SC. and lived in Ga. for a time, but is believed to have returned to the Sumter Co. area again after 1870-75. Any information regarding either, or her death/burial info. would be greatly appreciated!
HODGE- I am looking for any information on my g-g-grandmother. Hulda Jane Hodge was born in Paxville,Clarendon Co. S.C. in 1827. She married Francis J. Rivers who was born in Sumter, Sumter Co. S.C. in 1824. If anyone has any information I would love to hear from you.

FULWOOD - Looking for information on Sarah Fulwood, husband, parents etc. Born March 11 1894 died Nov 1992, mother was a slave. Some relatives have possible last name Fullard. ANDERSON- I am searching for the parents of William Anderson who left Sumter County in 1810 and lived thereafter in Wilkinson county, Ms. He had 3 sons, Daniel D., John, and William (Wm.remained in South Carolina). His wife's name was Sarah Richardson and she was his second wife. Would also like the name of his first wife as she was Daniel's (my ancestor) mother. His daughter, Roxanna, was married to a Scott who had a tavern near the courthouse that was a very busy place.
WHITE/BOONE/CHINA/LOGMIRE- Family notes say that there is an ELIZABETH BOONE[a niece of frontiersman Daniel Boone] in the lineage of my g-g-grandmother HENRIETTA MARIAH (WHITE) LONGMIRE. SAMUEL BOONE [brother of Daniel Boone] did move his family to SC and lived on the Congaree River ca 1760 - 1779. SAMUEL BOONE had a daughter, ELIZABETH BOONE (b. ca 1752) who married a WILLIAM WHITE (b. ca 1750). Did Elizabeth and William White marry while in Sumter,SC? The father of my HENRIETTA MARIAH WHITE (b.1836) was also named WILLIAM WHITE (b. 1776); 1st he married CLARISSA KINGSWOOD and 2nd married ELIZABETH CHINA in 1823 in Sumter County. The children of WILLIAM WHITE (b. 1776) by his 1st wife were: WILLIAM K. WHITE (b. ca 1808), GEORGE WHITE; a daughter WHITE who married ________BRAKEN; and another daughter WHITE who married _______HARVIN. By his second marriage to ELIZABETH CHINA, WILLIAM WHITE'S (b. 1776) children were: MARY M. WHITE (b. 1824); SAMUAL TAYLOR WHITE (b. 1825); AGNES BOONE WHITE (b. 1826); JOHN J. WHITE (b. 1828); ALFRED JUDSON WHITE (b. 1830); HENRY C. WHITE (b. 1832); RACHEL ELIZABETH WHITE (b. 1834); and HENRIETTA MARIAH WHITE (b. 1836). All the children were born in Sumter County, S.C. BRADFORD- Thomas Bradford was the owner of Bradford Springs. I am in need of a copy of the grant where he obtained the Land in 1771 and would like to find out if a deed from him is in existance and where. I am trying to fit this Thomas Bradford into the research of the Thomas Bradford 1734-1811 and Sarah Ransom. They were in residence in 1811 in Hancock, GA when Thomas died.
