(m. to Mary Flowers) is believed to have been buried somewhere on his propery.

a cemetery that may have become a black cemetery over the years. David
died in 1827, owning some 5,000 acres in the Sumter/Darlington area. He
may be in the Indian Branch area of his property. Any help would be appreciated.

O'NEILL/STACK-I
am looking for information on two family names: Phelim O'Neill Jr. was
from New York City and graduated from the Medical College of Virginia in
1912. He was licensed to practice medicine in South Carolina in 1912. He
is listed in the American Medical Directory for 1914 and 1916 as "address
unknown," last known address, Sumter, S.C. In the 1918 and 1921 Directories
he is listed as practicing in Columbia, S.C. Phelim Jr. died in N.Y. in
1924 at the age of 35. He is buried in the NYC Catholic Cemetery (Calvary
Cemetery) in Queens. His wife and child are not buried with him.
His son, Phelim III, lists Sumter, S.C.
as his birth place on his S.S. application form, which was filed in N.Y.
His mother is listed on the form as, Elizabeth Stack. Phelim Joseph O'Neill
III d. in 1976, address unknown.
Elizabeth O'Neill was issued letters of
administration in N.Y. upon the death of her husband. Through the S.C.
Death Benefits Index I have identified an Elizabeth O'Neill who was born
in 1885, whose S.S. card was issued in N.Y. and who died in Sumter in 1971.
I am suspicious that she was the wife of Phelim Jr. and that she was originally
from and later returned to Sumter, possibly with some family members.

MCLEOD-I am
looking for information on James McLeod who was born on the Isle of Skye,
Scotland and Margaret Blakeley McLeod who was born in County Down, Ireland.
Their plantation was on Scape Ore Creek about six miles from Mayesville
in Sumter County, S.C. James migrated to America with his wife and small
son, David before the Rev. War, probably about 1773. It is thought that
they first went to Virginia but later settled in Sumter District, S.C.
and became large land owners. After the death of her husband, James, Margaret
married Roger Gordon who had come to America with them and had been their
business manager for years. Jams and Margaret had four children, David,
Moses Blakeley, Roger Gordon, called Oddie, and Margaret Blakeley. I am
looking for James McLeod's war record. I would like to find out the what
ship they came to America on. I have considerable information on the children
of James and Margaret if anyone is researching this family. Thanks: Henry
