Sumter-Services for Mary Craft Hatfield, 86, will be held at 3 pm
Thursday, August 31 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Camden, with the Rev. Jimmy
Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will
receive friends 6-8 tonight at Bullock Funeral Home. Mrs. Hatfield died Monday,
August 28, 2000 at Toumey Heathcare Systems of Sumter. Born in Kershaw County,
she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Mary Miller Craft. She was
married to the late Mendel Ben "Hat" Hatfield. Surviving are sons, Ralph
Hatfield and wife, Rachel of Lancaster, John Cooper and wife, Diannie of Camden
and Fred L. Hatfield Sr. And wife, Dorothy of Sumter; daughter, Betty Hasty of
Lugoff; 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 7
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl M. Hatfield
and a grandson, Johnny D. Hatfield.

Robert Elvin “Pete” McCathern, 59, of Sumter,
brother of five county residents, died Friday, April 20. Born in Lee County, he
was a son of the late Kervin McCathern and Elizabeth White McCathern. Mr.
McCathern was employed by Korn Industries. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann
Anderson McCathern, of Sumter; two sons, Robbie E. And Terry L. McCathern, both
of Sumter; one daughter, Sandra Marie Baird, of Sumter; seven brothers, William,
Vernon and Herbert McCathern, all of Bishopville; Harold and Ronnie McCathern,
both of Cassatt, Don McCathern of Lugoff, and Frank McCathern, of Live Oak,
Fla.; two sisters, Lela Mae Hough and Shirley Privette, both of Cassatt; and
four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 24,
in the Chapel of the Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home, Sumter, with the
Reverends Carnell Floyd and Buiddy Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in
the Piedmont Cemetery in Bishopville. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The
family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm this evening at the
Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home and others times at the home, 1451 Paul
Street, Sumter. Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home is in charge.

EARL WAYNE RICHBOURG
1924-2007
Earl Wayne Richbourg, born in
Pensacola, Florida in 1924, went home to his
heavenly father, July 30, 2007
at the age of 82.
Earl was a World War II veteran, flying combat missions
for the Navy. He
attended the University of Florida and served as student
government vice
president for Pensacola Junior College. Earl, a mechanical
engineer was a
manufacturer's representative in the HVAC industry for over 40
years. Before
retiring, he was a member of the Association of General
Contractors. Earl
spent his life dedicating it to others. He was a member of
many community
organizations including the Krewe of Lafitte, Karnival
Kavaliers, and the
BPO Elks where he served as District Deputy Grand Exalted
Ruler, Florida NW.
He was an honorary life member of Pensacola Beach Elks
Lodge.
Earl was an active member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. In
addition
to being an ordained elder and Sunday School teacher, he wrote a
Bible Study
on the Book of Acts which small groups still use.
His
mother, father, one sister, four brothers and his first wife, Mary
Alyce
Richbourg, precede Earl in death.
Earl is survived by his wife,
Norma Richbourg, Pensacola; son and
daughter-in-law, Richard "Rick" and
Jeanne Richbourg, Orlando; and one
daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Brian
Finkbone, Pensacola Beach; and
granddaughter Kylie Finkbone, Pensacola
Beach.
Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday, August 2, 2007
at
Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel.
Funeral Service will be held
10:00am, Friday August 3, 2007 at Harper-Morris
Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rew
Randolph officiating.
Entombment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park
Mausoleum.
Earl was secure in the knowledge that to be absent from the
body is to be
present with the Lord.
HARPER-MORRIS MEMORIAL CHAPEL is

Mr. and Mrs. Mike Powell were called to Summerton, S.C. [Clarendon Co] on
the 18th inst. by
a telegram announcing the critical illness of Mrs.
Powell's aunt, Mrs. R.R.
Briggs. Before reaching their destination however,
they had another telegram
announcing her death. The news of Mrs. Briggs'
death was heard with deep
regret by her many friends in Newnan where she had
frequently visited, and
the sympathy of everyone goes out to the bereaved
husband.

Thomas Bailey Holladay
Manning - Thomas B. Holladay, 83, died April 11th
at his
residence.
Born in Manning, he was the son of the late Andrew Mitchell
and Virginia
Owens Holladay.
Mr. Holladay was a retired Farmer and a Member of the First
Baptist
Church In Manning.
Survivors include a Daughter, Viola Wilson of Manning, Two Sons, Thomas B.
Jr., and
Alvin Wayne Holladay, both of Manning; a Step-daughter, Barbara
Goldsmith of Monroe, NY;
a Step-son, Robert L. Thames, Jr. of Shelbyville,
Ky; a Sister Dot Bagnal of Manning; Two Brothers
Milton Ralph and Mitchell
Holladay both of Manning, and 13 Grandchildren.
Services were held friday in the Chapel of Stephens
Funeral Home with
Dr. Paul Sullivan officiating
Burial was in Holladay Family Cemetery

Thomas Bailey Holladay, Sr. AKA Bailey, or Mr. Bail by those who had a
great deal of respect for him.
Bailey's Youngest Daughter, Harlene Kay Spigner, along with her two
children, Robin Machelle and Edgar Wayne Spigner, died when their home caught
fire in Alcolu, 1982. Pearl Lowder Holladay, Bailey's wife, Died in 1983, at
Clarendon Memorial Hospital.
Bailey's brother, Milton's middle name is Ravenel, not Ralph. His other
brother, Mitchell is Mitchell Lyle Holladay, both died in the 1990's. Had he
Lived, beyond the 90's and today at 100, He would have been the Great
Grandfather to Seven of his Grandchildren's offspring, one being my son who is
carrying on the Holladay name. Also He would have been the Step-Great
Grandfather to 8 other children through his wife, Pearl and her children.
Cemetery Location:
Holladay Family Cemetery is located under 2 miles South West of
Manning, off Hwy 260 toward Lake Marion. Take a right on Robson street, go
straight down and take a left on Pickwood, up the hill , Turn Right on Holladay
Drive ( Holliday on Maps). Go down dirt road and see the Cemetery sitting on
left, beside old ruins of a home area.
