A native of Massachusetts, an the oldest son of Joseph & Elizabeth
Clark, He came into South Carolina Oct 1816 and died suddenly at
Rafting Creek May 5, 1829 Age 37 years'.

William, David Hastings, Steven Lillington. He was a gentle
compassionate man of character and integrity who served both God and
country, he devoted himself to family and friends, loved by all who
knew him.

Phifer and Louisa Williams Phifer, from this union, four sons and
fourteen grandchildren, her children arise up and call her blessed, her
husband also and he praiseth her, many daughters have done
virtuously but thou excellenced them all. She was a member of the
Phifer Orchestra, she faithfully served Christ for over 75 years at the
First Baptist Church in Sumter; She was an inspiration spiritually and
musically to all.
