of Garland, Me., she died Jan. 6, 1858? aged 40 years & 10 mo.

To the Memory of Mrs. Dorcas wife of Stephen Olney, Esq.,
she departed this life Dec. 13, 1813, aged 60 years
Sacred to the Memory of Captain Stephen Olney
of North Providence, who died Nov. 23, 1832,
aged 77 years, 1 mo. & 11 days.
"He was a regular descendant, of the 5th generation,
of Thomas Olney, one of the first settlers of Providence,
with Roger Williams, and was born and died on the estate
laid out by his said ancestor, as joint proprietor in the
Providence purchase.
Capt. Olney was a soldier of the Revolution: he entered
in the first campaign as a Lieutenant, then in the 20th
year of his age, and was stationed at Roxbury.
When the British left Boston, he marched with the army
to New York, was in the severe battle on Long Island and
others in that vicinity, and in the retreat through the
Jersies.  About this time, he was advanced to a Captaincy.
When Lord Cornwallis was ravaging Virginia, a detachment
under the Marquis La Fayette, marched to oppose him, and
Capt. Olney's company formed part of the ...  detachment
and other forces ...   "

born July 16, 1802, died died Nov. 9, 1877
Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Eve Pearce, second wife of Reuben Pearce,
and daughter of the late Capt. Joseph and Martha Olney
who departed this life the 21st day of March 1818,
aged 55 years? and 18 days.
