Dexter Family Graves in Providence

North Burial Ground, Providence (PV001)
Ebenezer Knight Dexter, born in Providence April 26, 1773, died August 10, 1824.
By his last will he bequeathed a large and valuable estate to his native town in perpetual trust for the benefit of the unfortunate poor. Of this munificence the Dexter Asylum and the Dexter donation fund are the enduring memorials. In grateful commemoration of this most useful benefaction the city of Providence has erected this monument on the spot to which his remains have been removed.
