I am attaching a letter from Hester Ellen Lister who
was born in 1839 I think in Pickaway Co., Ohio.
I think she died in 1871 in Brady Twp.,
Williams Co. Ohio. She sent this letter from Williams Co.
to Montgomery Co., Iowa in 1862.
I believe that she married Abraham Myersb. Nov 1837
and d. December 18,
1912 in Brady Twp., Williams Co. Ohio.
The translation is:
April the 19th of 1862
Dear Harriet, it is with pleasure that i take my pen in hand
to inform
you that we are all well now and I hope these few lines
may find you in the same state of
health
I received your letter I was glad to here from you all
and I was glad
to see you writing Mother and Father has gon a visiting and
Bily is gon to meeting
and I am alone now I wish you would come and
stay with me the next time they all go
a way Ferris and Jane was here
to day they are all well now John is all well now
Nancy was
here last friday they was all well
it is very wet here this spring wheat
looks well I have not mutch to write this time
so I suppose you will excuse me if I
dont write mutch this time Write soon give all the
news you can tel John Wm to write
to me I want to see some of his writing
Nothing more at preasant but my love to you
all and to quiring friends if any there be.
