Lake County Ohio GenWeb
Thanks to Dale Craig, Lake County Historical Society Library Director for pointing out this wonderful source in the collection and the Society for allowing us to freely share it here.
The Lake County Historical Society holds the index cards from which this information was taken. Some spelling was corrected. Many of these couples are also listed in the index to Geauga County Divorces. The index seems to be fairly complete from 1822 to 1849, but there are entries from as late as 1898. Who did this index is currently unknown.
As always this is provided as a finding aid to the newspapers indexed here. Microfilm of these papers may be read at Lake County Historical Society Library or read and printed/downloaded at Morley Library in Painesville. The original court records for Geauga County will be found at the Geauga County Archives in Chardon, and those beginning in 1840 for Lake County residents at Lake County Common Pleas Court. Some of the court records are available at the LDS Family History Center in Kirtland.
