Industrial Rayon Memorial Grounds - This is not a cemetery, but because it is similar and may memorialize people who would not otherwise be in cemeteries locally, we chose to include it. This lovely arbor memorial is at the end of Bacon Road in Painesville Township, on the east side of the road, directly in front of the Industrial Rayon, later IRC, later Uniroyal, building. It consists of a tree planted for each employee who was killed in World War II and Korea. Each tree has a bronze plaque on a concrete post. In the center of the row by the road, there is a huge granite rock cut and polished with the names of all those so memorialized. |
