Jesus I trust in thee/ Jan. 15, 1903/ June 6, 1988/ [ on bronze] Margaret Leona Basler Thomas Lanum/ A Very Special Lady/ Her home grown fruits and vegetables were as/ delectable as the farm fresh chickens she raised and/ the many dinners and clam bakes she prepared for/ friends and family./The wisdom of her "old world savings" were as/ truthful as her sense of humor was unpredictable./ She never had an unkind word for anyone and was/ always available to help neighbor, friend or relative/ whether it was a few dollars to "tide them over", a/ few words of wisdom to enrich them, or the tender/ loving care that could nurse them back to good/ health./ Many many people owe a great deal to the quiet lady/ who never asked for a reward or return on her/ investment./ She could toss a "rolling pin" the furthest at a/ family picnic, yet calm a terrified child the quickest of/ anyone./ She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend/ who was always there to listen./ Her family hopes only that the ones whose lives she/ touched have seen in her eyes the eyes of our Lord/ Jesus Christ. |
Jesus on left; bronze plaque on right; apple, ear of corn, tomato strawberry |
