Frank J. Jerome, ’73

After graduating from high school, Frank J. Jerome studied law two years in office of Burrows & Bosworth, attended Michigan Univ. Law School one year. He was admitted to the Bar in 1877, and practiced in Painesville until 1893 in association with Hon. J.B. Burrows. He then entered the Law Department of The Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway Company at Cleveland, of which company in 1901 he became General Attorney and in 1913 General Counsel continuing in that office of The New York Central Railroad Company after the consolidation. He is now an Assistant Vice president of the New York Central in the Executive Department, Division of Law, and a director of that Company, of the Big Four and of several other lines of the system. Mr. Jerome is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Bar Associations of the Union Club, Mid-Day Club and Chamber of Commerce of Cleveland, Lake County Chamber of Commerce, a Trustee of Lake Erie College and a Senior Warden of St. James’ Episcopal Church.

In 1884 Mr. Jerome and Miss Lucy E. Dingley were married. Their house situated on the Park is one of the most attractive and hospitable in Painersville.

One son, Frank J. Jerome, with his wife and three children makes his home in Chicago where is is associated with the New York Central R.R.

Mr. Jerome has been a life long resident of Painesville.
