Daniel Bartram 1745-1817

Daniel Bartram was born in Fairfield, Conn. Oct. 23, 1745. In 1777 he enlisted as a private in Capt. Hull's company, Col. Stearns' regiment, Conn. militia. He saw active service in the defense of Danbury against the raids of the British.

Daniel Bartram moved to Madison, Ohio, in May, 1809, where he resided until his death, May 17, 1817. He was buried in the burying ground at Unionville, near the church. Soon after, the church was burned, and it was found impossible to locate his grave. A stone was erected to his memory in the Middle Ridge burying ground, where lie the remains of his wife and many of his descendants.
