Dennis L. Youngman

March 23, 1944 - December 6, 2018

Dennis L. Youngman, 74, residing in Sandusky, OH passed away December 6, 2018 at the Ohio Veterans Home.

Dennis was born on March 23, 1944 to the late Ervin and Helen (Frobase) Perry. Helen later married Charles Youngman.

Dennis was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He completed basic and advanced training in Texas and Colorado and was stationed in Japan, Hawaii and Massachusetts. He was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed taking his children exploring and camping in the mountains in the Seattle, Washington area where he resided for more than twenty years. Dennis graduated with a BA in English and had a life-long passion for poetry. He actively participated in poetry groups in the Seattle and Toledo area and his poems are registered with the United States Copyright Office.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Erin Youngman of Pennsylvania; son, Ryan Youngman of Washington; grandson, James Youngman and 2 brothers, David (Inge) Youngman of Texas and Bill Youngman of Washington.

In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Barbara Anderson, Marilyn Kopkau and Shelly Collins.

Friends & family may call on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Griffin Chapel at the Ohio Veterans Home, 3416 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870 from 10 am until the time of funeral services at 11 am. Burial will follow at the Ohio Veterans Home Cemetery. Chaplain Paul Birmingham will be presiding over the services. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
