William "Bill" Werner, 77, of Berlin Heights, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 1940, at Stein Hospice Care Center.
He was born on August 18, 1940, in Norwalk, and has lived in Berlin Heights for most of his life. He was a 1958 graduate of Berlin Heights High School and served in the Ohio National Guard.
He worked for Hug Concrete in Norwalk and owned and operated Sparkle Market in Berlin Heights for over 20 years. He served on the Berlin Heights Village Council, Zoning Board, served on the Board of Directors for the former Elyria Savings and Trust in Berlin Heights. Bill was an active member of the Berlin Heights Kiwanis and Jaycees. Bill was the 2018 Berlin Heights Man of The Year. He loved golfing, snowmobiling, collected trains, and attending sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Peggy; his children, Michelle Kopronica, of Eaton Twp., and Shannon Fish, of Wesley Chapel, FL; a sister, Babette Kasik, of Murraysville, PA; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen (Jarrett) Werner.
Friends may call on Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Morman-Hinman-Tanner Funeral Home, 38 South Street, Berlin Heights.
On Saturday, there will be one hour of visitation prior to services at 12 noon. Chaplain Melvin Sayler will be officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
