September 21, 1932 ~ June 14, 2020 (age 87)

HURON – Louis P. Wargo Jr.,87, formerly of Huron, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

He was born September 21, 1932 in Bellevue. He started working for the Huron Police Department in 1955 and became the Police Chief in 1966 and worked for a total of 30 years for Huron.

He was a US Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron and a former member the Huron Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Frances (Tata) Wargo, married to for 67 years; his sons, Louis P. Wargo III of Port Clinton and Anthony R. (Lynda) Wargo of Huron; two grandchildren, Paula (Ben) Conner and Louis P.(Denise) Wargo IV; and a great-granddaughter, Norah Wargo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis P. and Stella (Madison) Wargo Sr; daughter, Sandra Marie Wargo; brother, Michael “Mickey” Wargo; and sister, Lucy Mae Wargo.

Friends may call Wednesday, June 24th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, June 25th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Jeffrey McBeth officiating.

Burial will take place at a later date at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Milan.
