Michael E. Wangler

August 15, 1950 ~ December 2, 2017

Michael E. Wangler, 67 of Huron, formerly of Chicago, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his residence.

Michael was born Aug 15 1950 in Chicago, IL and has resided in Huron for the past 6 years.

Michael was a US Army Veteran, Point Squad Delta, 3rd Battalion, 22nd Infantry and served in Vietnam from July 1969 to March 1971. After service to his country, Michael became a Master Carpenter, and it is because of him that all of his brothers went into the construction business. Later in his career Michael earned his commercial real estate license, and retired from GVA Williams, Commercial Real Estate, Chicago 6 years ago. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Huron and enjoyed gardening as a pastime.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Amy (Kroft) Wangler; sisters, Betsy (John) Dellas, Katy (Al) Schroeder, Mary Wangler & Dolly (Chris) Cipolla; brothers,Dan (Jane) Wangler, Pat (Sola) Wangler, Joe (Sharon) Wangler & Bill (Lynda) Wangler.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Winnie (Farmer) Wangler; a sister, Trez and his dearest brother, Tim. Michael was a kind and generous soul and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

There will be a memorial service Wednesday, December, 6th at 1 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron with Rev. Jeffery Sikorski officiating.

Cremation has taken place
