David G. Strom

September 4, 1932 ~ July 11, 2017

David G. Strom, Sr. was born September 4, 1932 in Findlay, Ohio. He passed away on July 11, 2017 after a lengthy illness.

Dave grew up in the greater Sandusky area and spent most of his adult life in Huron, Ohio. He graduated from Huron High School in 1950, served in the army from 1952-1954, and had a long career in retail sales management, working for Sears, Gail's Clothing stores in Sandusky and Lorain, Ohio, Tiffin Video and La-Z-Boy Furniture. In his younger years, Dave was active in the Jaycees, and enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and hunting. Always an avid reader, he enjoyed traveling with trips to Arizona, Nova Scotia, and Norway after he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Koohns) Cummins Strom, sons David (Laura) Strom Jr. and Erik Strom, daughter Kristina Strom, niece Debra (Muehlfeld) Wright, stepdaughters Jeanine York, Kathleen (John) McClain, Beth (Joe) Brandel, stepson Nick (Lidia) Cummins, LeAnn Rahrig, and much loved grandchildren Denah Johnston, Andrew Strom, Sara (Steve) Glaros, Jake York, Danny McClain, Kelly (Ben) Truman, Erin Brandel, Patrick Brandel, Nathan Cummins, and great-grandchildren Paxton McClain, and Henry, Jack and Charlie Glaros.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Mosier) Strom and Arthur Strom, his sisters Eileen Fox, Maxene (Fox) Muehlfeld, and his grandson, Jeffrey York. His first wife of 24 years, Joanne (Pfefferle) Strom Chromey, passed away in 2013.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
