Thomas M. Scheel

October 17, 1946 ~ September 1, 2017

Thomas Martin Scheel, 70, of Huron, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017 at his residence in Sandusky.

He was born Oct 17, 1946 in Cleveland and moved to the Huron area in 1953. He graduated from Huron High School in 1964 and then entered the Navy in 1966 to 1973. He lived in Lorain for 15 years and then moved back to Huron in 1985.

He worked for Emerson Network Power for 30 plus years retiring in 2010.

He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Sandusky. He was a Push Jeep driver for Sandusky Speedway and Lorain County Speedway for over 40 years. He was a member of Civil Defense and enjoyed being a ham radio operator for years.

He is survived by his wife Gail (Lusher) Scheel, married to for 50 years; his daughter, April (Ryan) Beach of Huron; two grandchildren, Farrah and Brody Beach; and two brothers, James Scheel of Berea, and Michael Scheel of Lorain.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ginger Scheel in 2015; and parents, Dr. Martin and Janice (Sanborn) Scheel.

Friends may call Thursday, Sept 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service 12 noon at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron. Chaplain Jerry Lusher will officiate.

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at Scott Cemetery, Huron, at a later date.
