Rose M. (Spak) Salinski

December 6, 1928 - June 3, 2019

Rose M. (Spak) Salinski, 90, residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, June 3, 2019 at Parkvue Health Care Center after a brief illness.

Rose was born on December 6, 1928 in Wilkes Barre, PA to the late Daniel and Maria (Parada) Spak.

Rose graduated from Plains High School and started her career as a seamstress for designer dress companies. She married Charles J. Salinski on July 15, 1950. After they were married they relocated to Plainfield, NJ, then to Euclid, OH and then finally settled in Sandusky, OH. Rose worked along side Charles for many years managing Srepco Electronics. She then retired from the planning and design department at Cedar Point after several years of service. Rose enjoyed sewing, cooking (especially her specialty, pierogies), and working in the yard. She also loved watching her grandchildren participate in their sporting events and spending time with her family and friends. Rose was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a life long member of Beta Sigma Phi.

Rose is survived by her children, Karen (Ross "Ted") Wikel, Keith Salinski and Nanette (Ken) Schirg all of Sandusky; six grandchildren, to whom she was known as "Ba", Rob (Martha) Wikel, Ryan (Dawn) Wikel, Kirk (Lauren) Salinski, Krista Salinski, Ken (Jill) Schirg and Jonathan (Desiree) Schirg; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Craig of Swoyersville, PA and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 2004; sisters, Mary Spak and Helen Obarowski and brothers, Michael, George and Daniel Spak.

Private family services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Father Matt Frisbee will officiate.

Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
