Dorothy Anne (Sprankel) Rospert

May 13, 1930 ~ March 3, 2019

Dorothy (Sprankel) Rospert, 88, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, March 3, 2019, from a brief illness surrounded by family.

She was born in Bellevue, Ohio on May 13, 1930. Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of Bellevue High School and 1951 graduate of Robinwood School of Nursing in Toledo, Ohio. She was a registered nurse at FTMC for 26 years, retiring in 1992.

She was an exceptional pianist and in high school was a member of the senior sextet. She enjoyed gardening, was a girl scout leader, and loved attending her family's many activities.

Married 67 wonderful years to husband Wilfrid "Bud" Rospert, Dorothy was the love of his life and the only woman he ever dated. They enjoyed many vacations to destinations including Italy, Germany, France, Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean and various states where her children and grandchildren lived. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband, children Ruthie (John) Young, William Rospert, Jeanie (Ed) Barman, grandchildren Leah Loughlin, Joshua (Emily) Young, Sarah (Brett) Horton, Jeremiah (Emma) Young, Rebekah (Dion) Allen, Michael John Rospert, Nick (Lori) Barman, Danny (Tessa) Barman, Angela (Johann) Tonnessen. She is also survived by sisters- in-law Charlene Sprankel and Barb Rospert, as well as 22 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Winifred Sprankel, her son Wilfrid "Buddy" Rospert, Jr., and brother William A. Sprankel.

Visitation hours are 4:00 - 7:00pm on Friday March 8, at Foster Funeral Home in Huron. Funeral service is 10:30 Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk.
