May 12, 1948 - December 11, 2018

Ronald C. Johnson Sr., 70, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

Ronnie was born on May 12, 1948 in Sandusky, OH to the late Franklin James and Marjorie Ellen (Neer) Johnson Sr.

Ronnie retired from General Motors after 32 years of service. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Beverly Sims; sons, Ronald C. Jr., Michael J. (Melissa), Jason E. (Cathy) and Phillip W. Johnson; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dianne Ellen Keifer and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Johnson; brothers, Franklin James Johnson Jr and Thomas Allen Johnson Sr.

Friends may call on Sunday, December 16, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, December 17, 2018 at 10:00 am. Chaplain Mel Sayler of Stein Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
