James W. Poling

James W. Poling, 91, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.

James was born May 26, 1927 in West Virginia and has been a resident of Huron for the past 51 years.

James worked for Ohio Edison for over 40 years. He was a US Navy Veteran and served during WWII.

James was a member of the American Legion, Sandusky. He enjoyed golfing, yard work, and loved to read.

James is survived by his daughter, Jameyn Poling of Norwalk; 3 grandchildren, Rob Goretzki Jr, Brad Goretzki, and Nick Goretzki; and 5 great grandchildren, Izaya, Spencer, Sydney, Liam, and Storm Goretzki.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Poling in 2011; his parents, Charles Poling and Goldie Kirkhart; a sister, Juanita Poling, a brother Leroy Poling, a granddaughter Stefanie, and a great-grand child.

A committal service will take place Monday, Dec 3rd, at 1 p.m. at Meadow Green Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huron Public Library, 333 Williams Street, Huron 44839.
