Marshall Morgan

May 27, 1942 ~ January 24, 2019

Marshall Morgan, 76, of Huron, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 24 , 2019, in Punta Gorda, Fla., after a brief illness.

He was born May 27, 1942, in Emmett, W.Va., to Bert and Martha (Walls) Morgan, the youngest of nine children. He was a resident of Huron for the past 54 years.

Marshall was a graduate of Berlin Local Schools, Berlin Heights. He retired from Ford Motor Co., Lorain Assembly, after 33 years and was a consultant for Manchester Plastics for an additional 10 years. He married his best friend, Joanne (Wank) Morgan, Dec. 29, 1964. As a couple, they enjoyed boating and fishing on Lake Erie, spending time with family and friends, and following the sunshine south every year to their winter home in Punta Gorda.

Marshall found joy in life's simple pleasures. You could always find him relaxing on his deck on Kelleys Island, enjoying the warm sunshine and lake breezes, and watching the martin birds return every year.

He was a lifelong lover of music and was most at home sitting in front of a piano or picking his guitar to gospel and country music. He was a member of the Island Singers on Kelleys Island. Marshall valued time with family. Nothing filled his heart more than being in the company of his children and grandchildren. Those closest to Marshall would speak of his generosity. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his own back.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Michelle (Jeff) Wear, Eric (Judy) Morgan, and Leslie (Ben) Meyer; five grandchildren, Michael and Joe Wear, Jack Morgan, Joe and Izzy Meyer; sister, Shelba Robinette; and so many loving nieces and nephews.
