Betty (Elizabeth) Misnec

December 5, 1924 ~ April 25, 2018

Betty "Elizabeth" Misinec, 93, of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at University Hospital of Conneaut with her family by her side.

Betty recently moved to Villa at the Lake in Conneaut. Even though she was only there for 2 months she truly enjoyed herself. Betty was born December 5, 1924 in Ashtabula to Gust & Elizabeth (Palagie) Hathy. She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1942. She married James J Misinec June 26, 1948

Betty worked as a bookkeeper for WW Hill, Friends Auto Electric, and the Ashtabula Moose Lodge, where she was an officer. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader and was a chaperone for Harbor High School Band trip to Germany in 1972.

Betty was loved by all with a great smile and warm hugs. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, family and friends. She was lucky to have traveled to many destinations. She enjoyed road trips, usually to a casino, camping, playing bingo, sitting at Lake Shore Park, picnics, watching the Indians and Browns, and just sitting outside on the porch.

She is survived by her daughter, Patty (Steve) Ovak of Ashtabula; son, David (Barbara) Misinec of Huron; a daughter in law, Rhonda Misinec of Ashtabula; 8 grandchildren, Jeff (Melissa) Gawlikowski, Jennifer Warren, Tonya (Don) Costello, DJ (Ashley) Misinec, John Mahon, Jason (Ashley) Mahon, Chris Felix, Jessica Misinec; 17 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild.

A special Thank You to Heather her home health aide of many years, Mom really appreciated all your help.

She is preceded in death by her husband in 1995; son, James K Misinec in 2006, her parents; sisters, Gizella Morell, Helen Miller, Clara Lillvis, brothers, Julius and Gust Hathy.

A brief visitation and service will be held at Greenlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum, North Kingsville, on Friday, April 27th starting at 3:00 p.m.

Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, Huron, is assisting the family with arrangements.
