Mary M. Miller

May 25, 1925 ~ December 6, 2017

Mary M. Miller of Huron passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mary was born on May 25, 1925, in Sandusky, Ohio, to Josef and Blanka Michel; she was the second youngest of seven children. As a child, she worked in the family business, Michel's Bakery. She was a 1943 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School. After graduating from St. Mary's, Mary attended Ohio State University for one year, and later held positions at The American Crayon Company and the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services.

In 1950, she married Richard P. Miller, and together they had four children. While raising her family, Mary attended Bowling Green State University, Firelands Campus and earned an Associate Degree in Business. While living in Sandusky, she was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. After moving to Huron, she joined St. Peter Catholic Church and got involved in prayer groups. In addition to spending time pursuing hobbies in crafting and gardening, she developed a love of sewing.

Survivors include daughters Patricia (Randy) Wax, Belle Center, Ohio; Kathleen, Huron, Ohio; Sandy, Bowling Green, Ohio; and son Steve (Shelle), Sandusky, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Carrie, Diane, Jenni, Amanda, Aubrey, Andy, and Megan; six great-grandchildren, Anna, Julia, Claire, Cael, Miles, and Levi. Mary is also survived by her brother Joe (Carmel) Michel, many nieces and nephews, and two life-long friends, Ginnie Ruskin and Elaine Jesberger.

Preceding Mary in death were her husband Richard of 62 years; parents, sisters Virginia and Alberta, and brothers Eugene, Carl, and Edwin.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m., Sunday, December 10th, at Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron, and from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11tth at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St. Huron. Rev Jeffrey McBeth will officiate.

Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, 2020 Sanford Street, Sandusky.
