Mary Lou (Wilson) McGurk, 77, of Huron, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Stein Hospice, Sandusky, after an extended illness.
She was born Dec 11, 1940 in Salem, OH and has been a Huron resident for the past 55 years. She was in the first graduation class of Sandusky High School in 1958. She belonged to the Sandusky High School Acapella Choir, First Keynote Choir, and enjoyed singing in several church choirs.
She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, Norwalk. She worked for the Ohio Geological Survey from 1981 to 1994, and worked for Atty. Ralph Pisano's office, in Huron, for 18 years. She was a lifetime member of the Amvets Women's Auxiliary, Post 22, of Vermilion.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Harold McGurk; daughters, Beth McGurk of Sandusky and Kathleen McGurk (Bill Missig) of Boca Raton, FL; a son, Harold "Clay" McGurk (Terry Hennings) of Santa Ana, CA; 3 grandchildren, Bryce, Zia, and Ayden Missig, all of Boca Raton, FL; two step-sisters, Kathe (Bob) Summers of Hudson, OH, and Rosanne Rowan of Macedonia, OH; a brother, Glen (Gloria) Wilson of LaGrange, OH; a special aunt, Myrna (Jim) Dunn of Shelby; and her faithful companion "Chloe".
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Wilson and Mary Louise Rowan; and a sister in infancy.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 87 W. Main Street, Norwalk, on February 3, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Margaret D'Anieri officiating.
