Dona Jean (Deinzer) Maschari

May 13, 1926 - May 22, 2019

Dona Jean (Deinzer) Maschari, 93, residing in Sandusky, passed away Wednesday morning, May 22, 2019 at Providence Care Centers after a lengthy illness.

Dona was born on May 13, 1926 in Sandusky, OH to the late Arthur and Muriel (Patch) Deinzer.

Dona graduated from Sandusky High School. She was a clerk at Pietschman's Shoe Store. Dona was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church, where she also assisted on the funeral committee. She was also a mentor for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, being outdoors, walking and traveling. She was an avid sports fan, especially of football and basketball, a garage sale fanatic, and a 60+ year card club member.

Dona is survived by her daughters, Lee Ann (John) Panzer and Diann Hamilton both of Sandusky; sons, David Maschari and Ron (Pat) Maschari both of Sandusky; daughter-in-law, Kathy Maschari; 10 grandchildren, Matt, Amy, Brad, Bryon, Kam, Dawn, Mandie, Mark, Zach and Wes; 25 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Dona is preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Maschari; sisters, Lois May Richards and Jeannie Kajden and brothers, Jerry Deinzer, Nelson Welschenbach and Don Welschenbach.

Friends may call on Monday, May 27, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 428 Tiffin Ave., Sandusky. Father Matt Frisbee will officiate.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Sandusky.
