Joyce Marie (Hetler) Leimbach

September 7, 1941 - December 30, 2018

Joyce Marie (Hetler) Leimbach, 77, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday morning, December 30, 2018 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a battle with MDS, a rare blood disorder.

Joyce was born on September 7, 1941 in Mansfield, OH to the late Wilbur and Martha (Hoover) Hetler.

Joyce graduated from Ontario High School in 1959 and received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from The Ohio State University. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Joyce enjoyed being involved in the community, but her volunteer work with the Merry-Go-Round Museum, Sandusky Concert Association and Sandusky College Women's Club was most dear to her heart. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing and playing bridge.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Margaret Bankey of Bowling Green, OH; brother, Roger (Denise) Hetler of TN; brothers-in-law, Neal (Karen) Leimbach of Bellevue and Larry Leimbach of OR; two step-daughters, Amy (Paul) Muska of CT and Ann (Rob) Renau of Mentor, OH and three step-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Gale Leimbach.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Dr. Rev. Eric Bodenstab will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
