Rita J. Lawrence, 89, Sandusky, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019, in Providence Care Center.

Rita was born on June 20, 1929 in Sandusky to the late Arthur and Mae (Morgan) Gast, and attended Sandusky High School.

Rit worked at many places, with her last place of employment being Sandusky Folding Box.

Rita was a member of Wayside Temple, Castalia, loved playing Bingo, and most of all loved her children and grandchildren.

Rita is survived by her children, Bobbi Adams, Cindy Lawrence, Sue (Alvin Lee) Prentice, and Sheila (Monte) Adams all of Sandusky, Robert (Julie) Lawrence and Linda (Ace) Carpenter, both of Michigan; fourteen grandchildren; thirty three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Russell and Vicky Wilks both of Texas, and Sandra (Gene) Ross, Clyde; brother, Glen Gast of Washington; several nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Lawrence; parents; daughter, April Grimm; granddaughter, Tonya Grimes; sisters, Loretta Stang, Estella Drake, Ruby Yost, and Gail Jones; brothers, Arthur Gast, Thurston Gast and a stillborn brother.

Friends may call on Friday, March 15, 2019, from 3 P.M. until time of funeral services at 5 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
