July 3, 1916 ~ July 20, 2017

Mary E. Howen, 101, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Lutheran Memorial Home, Sandusky.

She was born July 3, 1916 in Cleveland and lived in Lakewood in her early years then moving to Marble Head and Port Clinton and living the last three years in Huron.

She worked for Travelers Insurance Company for over 20 years.

She enjoyed working with ceramics and wood burning as hobbies.

She is survived by two nieces, Cheryl (Larry) Pearson of Huron and Susan (Edward) Read of Windermere, FL; a nephew, Edward Wienbroer of Pt Clinton; several great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Talbert Howen; a dear companion and friend, Harmon Meredith; a brother, Ralph E. Wienbroer; and a nephew, Dwayne Wienbroer.

Friends may call Monday, July 24th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main St. Huron. Burial and graveside services will be held at Lakewood Park Cemetery, Rocky River
