William A Hamler

August 8, 1939 ~ October 21, 2018

William A. Hamler, 79, of Huron, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at The Meadows at Osborn Park.

He was born in Columbus, OH, August 8, 1939 to Donald and Agnes Hamler. He married Bernice Taylor in 1960 and they have lived together in Huron for the last 58 yrs.

Bill loved fishing and sports. He followed the Indians, Cavs, Browns and Ohio State as well as local teams. He especially liked watching his grandchildren compete in sports. For many years Bill played softball at Battery Park and at OVH.

He worked as a meat cutter at Kroger for over 45 yrs. before retiring in 2001. In his retirement he continued working part time at the Huron Market. He enjoyed meeting and spending time with customers.

He shared his home with many 4 legged friends over the years. He adored his dogs and was quick to give a treat. He could often be seen watching TV with a cat on his lap.

Bill is survived by his wife Bernice, daughters, Jackie Hamler, Julie Blodgett (Jeff), and Jennifer Hamler; grandchildren, Amanda Blodgett and Jason Blodgett; sisters, Patricia Sheperd, Jean Melton; brothers, Donald (Skip) Hamler and Thomas Hamler; sister-in-Law, Marilyn (Bill) Enderle, and brother-in-Law Ed (Mary) Taylor, as well as many Nieces and Nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Agnes Hamler, father-in-law George Taylor, mother-in-law Evelyn Taylor; his brother Jerry Hamler, Sister, Carol Ohlemacher; sister-in-law's, Nancy Hamler, Norma Batch & Doris Taylor.

Friends may call Thursday, October 25th from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron.
