Mary Gebelle

May 18, 1925 ~ November 17, 2017

Mary E. Gebelle, 92, of Huron, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, Nov. 17, 2017. She passed on peacefully at home with her husband of 67 years, Mike Gebelle, at her side. They were married Dec 2, 1950.

She was born May 18, 1925 in Sandusky and graduated from St. Mary's Schools in 1943. In her earlier days she worked as a switchboard operator at Hinde and Dauch Company, Sandusky, and later became an appraiser with Better Homes and Gardens Realty. She also worked as a writer for the Sandusky Register and was a gifted seamstress. She volunteered at Providence Hospital and over the years she was involved with St. Peter Parish in Huron for 67 years and was a member of the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Red Hat Club. She enjoyed being in bridge clubs, and was an avid Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Browns fan and attended many games. She loved to travel and had the opportunity for many travels, visiting many states and Europe.

She is survived by her husband Mike, 94, of Huron; one daughter, Kathleen Mary; a son, Dante Michael Gebelle of Huron; one grandson, Joel Michael (Grace) Kemp; two brothers, John (Anne) Daniel and Edward (Pat) Daniel; many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Eleanor Daniel; two brothers, Robert and William Daniel.

Friends may call Monday, Nov 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home & Crematory, 410 Main Street, Huron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Nov 21 at 11 a.m. at St Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main Street, Huron with Rev. Joe Steinbauer officiating.

She will be laid to rest at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
