Frederick Sugaman Farris

August 3, 1942 ~ May 23, 2019

Frederick Lee "Sugaman" Farris, 76, of Sandusky, died on Thursday, May 23, 2019 in Stein Hospice Care Center.

He was born on August 3, 1942 in Mobile, AL to the late John and Ella (Hunter) Farris. Freddy attended Sandusky High School. He was formerly employed by Chrysler, Kalahari, and Revere. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Ever the active community member, Freddy was a member of the NAACP and volunteered with the office of veteran affairs.

He is survived by his sons, Vincent Randleman and Bret Farris, both of Sandusky; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine (Cecil) Roberts, Lillie Brown, Mary (Kenneth) Jones, Ruby (Bobbie) Nesbit, Ruth (Dennis) Fletcher, and Jannice Farris all of Sandusky; brother, John Farris, of Sandusky; stepchildren, John Randleman, Terrence Randleman, Tracia (Paul) Brown, Tonya Randleman, and Von Randleman; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Farris; and brothers, Wilbert "Kool Aid" Farris and Walter "Bully" Farris.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 30 from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 1 P.M. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Rev. Clayton E. Howard will officiate.
