Dennis Charles DeLor, 60, of Sandusky, Ohio died February 14, 2019 in Stein Hospice, Sandusky.
Dennis was born December 2, 1958, in Sandusky, the son of Betty (Adelman) and Russell S. DeLor. As an adult Denny enjoyed apartment living in Sandusky since 1995, surrounded by family and loving staff, who provided services in support of his independent living.
Denny's education began with his attending Betty Rinderle School at the age of 6 in 1964, and graduating in 1980. He was a life-long learner having received a reading certificate from the Sandusky Public Library. His community service work included volunteering for Ohio Mentor passing out flyers at the Red Cross and Erie County Fair. Denny's work history included working at: Double S Industries, Glidden Paint Company, Berardi's Family Restaurant, Ability Works and REM Ohio.
Music was his quintessential love, which included attending concerts and listening and singing to his extensive collection of CD's including Glen Campbell, John Denver, AC/DC, Foreigner and Barry Manilow. Other activities he enjoyed were trips to Cedar Point for the rides and french fries, visits to Tofts Dairy and Cameo Pizza.
He is survived by his sister, Marsha (Gary) Opalk of Tallmadge, Ohio; brother, Kenneth (Debra) DeLor of Seaside, Florida and an aunt, Margaret Adelman from California, along with several nieces, a nephew and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 11:00 am at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 East Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Rabbi John Spitzer will officiate. The service will be preceded by a brief visitation with friends and family. Burial will be at the Oheb Shalom Cemetery after the service.
