Joyce M. (Galloway) Cheek, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, January 13, 2019 at Stein Hospice Care Center surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born on April 9, 1931 in Venice, OH to the late Charles Sr. and Lena (Young) Galloway.
Joyce was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans. Joyce was a caring person, who opened her heart and home to everyone. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Barb (Danny) Ouellette of Castalia, Jacquelyn (William) Jesberger of Sandusky and Sandi Ramon of Sandusky; four sons, William (Cheryl) of MN, Timothy (Julie) of Sandusky, Stephen (Krista) of Castalia and Patrick (Scarlet) of FL; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Lieb of Sandusky, Dorothy Shirey and Alice (Donald) Kuns both of Castalia and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In addition to her parents and beloved step-father, Alton Sengstock Sr., Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Cheek and brothers, Charles Galloway Jr., and Alton "Bud" Sengstock Jr.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave, Sandusky. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 in the funeral home at 11:00. Pastor John Adams of New Life Church will officiate. Entombment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
